About Baloney

Baloney is an independent reference that examines the everyday myths and misconceptions people repeat — about science, history, technology, animals, and food. For each one we lay out the claim, where the myth came from, the real explanation, why it still spreads, and how you can check it yourself.

Every entry follows the same structure and gives a clear verdict: true, false, or mixed. We stick to well-documented, non-controversial topics and write in a fair, educational tone.

Baloney is not a news or medical fact-checking service, and it is not affiliated with any media outlet or platform. Our verdicts reflect widely agreed expert consensus, not our own opinion.
